OTT offers three adhesive technology tiers: EVA (standard, proven and economical), PUR (water-resistant, heat-resistant, virtually invisible) and bluEdge HyFuse (zero joint, no adhesive, completely invisible). The CombiMelt system enables fast switching between EVA and PUR. All technologies are retrofittable.
OTT edgebanding machines process all common edge materials: ABS, PVC, PP, melamine, veneer, solid wood and CPL. Application areas range from furniture production through kitchen and shopfitting to door manufacturing and interior construction. With edge thicknesses up to 25 mm (StrongEdge, TopEdge L), even heavy solid wood profiles are possible.

Yes, all OTT models are available with or can be retrofitted with the CombiMelt system for PUR processing. The Storm+ and TopEdge include PUR as standard, while on other models it is an option.

Adhesive technology is a critical factor in edge quality. While EVA adhesive is sufficient for many standard applications, PUR adhesive provides a water-resistant, heat-resistant and significantly thinner glue joint. For kitchen furniture, wet-room cabinetry and premium designer furniture applications, PUR is today's recognized standard. OTT's bluEdge technology goes one step further: through laser-based activation of the functional layer, a completely invisible connection is created without any adhesive.
The CombiMelt system features patented Top-Driven-Roller technology that ensures uniform, bubble-free glue application. Two separate containers for EVA and PUR enable fast switching between both adhesive types. The complete service station significantly simplifies cleaning and maintenance. EVA is suitable for standard furniture in dry environments. PUR is the choice for waterproof joints in kitchen furniture and wet-room cabinetry. bluEdge HyFuse delivers the highest aesthetic quality with a completely invisible joint for premium furniture. The CombiMelt system allows quick switching between EVA and PUR.
PUR (polyurethane reactive adhesive) cures by reacting with atmospheric moisture, forming a permanent, water-resistant bond. The glue joint is significantly thinner than EVA and virtually invisible. PUR is more heat-resistant than EVA and does not swell with moisture. In kitchen and laboratory furniture, PUR is now standard.
The bluEdge zero joint technology with HyFuse laser completely replaces adhesive. The functional layer of the edge is thermally activated and fused to the board. The result is a monolithic surface without any visible separation line. This technology is retrofittable to all OTT machines, opening the path to the premium segment for workshops.
For kitchen furniture, we recommend PUR adhesive. It forms waterproof, heat-resistant joints that hold permanently even in the humid kitchen environment. EVA can swell with steam and moisture.

Return and handling systems are an essential component of any efficient edgebanding line. A return system enables single-operator running of the edgebanding machine: the operator loads the workpiece, the machine processes the edge, and the return system automatically transports the finished part back to the operator. Without a return system, a second employee is needed to remove parts at the machine outfeed. The investment in a return system therefore pays for itself quickly through saved labour costs.
